Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in my friends backyard. She had a very nice landscaped back yard that was wide open with a lot of natural light that flooded the area.

Time

It was late afternoon right before the sun started to go down in late fall.

Lighting

This was 100% natural lighting. It was late afternoon around 6pm and the sun was just starting to go down.

Equipment

For this shot I only used my Nikon D5000 with my 18-55 lens. No tripod or anything just a good steady hand while breathing slowly.

Inspiration

I was friends with the girl in the picture for a few years and randomly found out one day that she played the cello. I immediately got inspired and wanted to do a photo shoot with her and her passion for the cello.

Editing

I do but I try my hardest to get the shot a perfect as I can so I have to do the least amount of post processing as possible. That was one thing my Photography Professor told me in college. I do use Adobe Bridge and Photoshop for the post processing if I have any to do. I do all of the post processing in Bridge and do minor details for Photoshop.

In my camera bag

I have 2 cameras a Nikon D5000 and a Nikon D5600, a wide angle lens 10-20mm for real estate photography mainly, a 80-300mm zoom lens, a 18-55mm lens, a Lensball, a external flash, extra batteries and memory cards,

Feedback

Take a lot of shots and make sure you capture all of the details! Take slow deep breathes and take the shot while exhaling it makes for a steady hand.
