"Deep, Deep, Deep" I am back from my time backpacking deep into the wilderness of the Cascade Mountains. What a trip it was, and the 140 miles and 25,000 feet of elevation gain with a 70 lb pack, did kick my rear at times, but worth the all effort indeed. This is one of the deepest places in Washington you can get two and required 2 1-2 days Hiking just to get to this location. And what a location it is. We did not see another person the entire time we were in the incredible basin. But we did have a visit from a Mama Bear and her two cubs. Sunrise over Tapto Lakes With Whatcom Peak and Mt Challenger Depp in North Cascades National Park in Washington...
