Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken by a small lake in a park called "Kapperskolk". Located in the town Doetinchem in the Netherlands.

Time

It was on a morning at about 11:00 am.

Lighting

I sat near a tree under a camouflage net. The light began to become real harsh but the leaves gave a good umbrella effect. Therefore the kingfisher was perfectly lit. No sign of any harsh light.

Equipment

I used a nikon d500 and the nikon 300mm pf f/4 VR.

Inspiration

The kingfisher is an all-time favorite bird of mine. So when there is an opportunity I will take it.

Editing

A little bit of cropping and some color enhancement. A little bit more contrast. And thats al there was to it.

In my camera bag

Or my 600mm f4 with tripod and gimbal head. And a wide angled lens and a macro lens.

Feedback

Get out as much as you can and learn your subjects behavior. And than try to predict what will happen, so that your prepared. And have patience, and a great portion of luck ofcourse.
