Location
I took this photo in a tree close to my back garden. I am a self taught Photographer who is inspired by wildlife especially birds.Time
The time of day was close to golden hour during the start of autumn, as the sun was going down it was starting to get colder.Lighting
The golden light was perfectly aligned opposite this Robin in a tree I couldn't wish for a better moment where things fell into place like magic.Equipment
I was using a D700 with a Sigma APO DG 150-500mm F/5-6.3 APO HSM DG OS Lens for Nikon I was using this handheld and decided to take this Portrait using a 1/800 Shutter Speed on 800 isoInspiration
Wild life has always been an inspiration for me since being young especially birds. I love taking walks around nature reserves seeking out any wild life I come across. Robins have always stood out to me for being so colourful and for that reason I couldn't resist taking this magical photo from my back garden where things just seemed to have aligned perfectly.Editing
the post processing I used was fairly simple because the lighting was pretty much perfect using Lightroom I only had to paint over the robin with adjustment brush to bring out the colours. I used the crop tool to slightly bring the image closer. In my camera bag
In my bag I always carry my D5600 along side my D700 which I walk with. The lenses I have are a Tamron 70-300 F/4-5.6 Di LD Macro a sigma 18-35mm f1.8 Nikon mainly for landscapes. the last pieces of equipment I use is sets of filters for any creative photos I want to Capture.Feedback
My advice to those wanting to take pictures of birds or anything similar is make sure the lighting is perfect if the lighting is not there then there's even times heavy post processing doesn't help. Make sure you put your focus point on the bird and set the F stops to capture the image with either a blurry background or depending your preference as for birds in flight make sure you use a high shutter speed.
