Nymans House and gardens are set in the High Weald just outside the town of Handcross in West Sussex, England. Transformed into a gothic mansion in the late 1920's disaster struck in 1947 when the building was extensively damaged by fire. A small part of the house is still inhabitable, and open to the public, but most of the south east facing side of the large house is just a shell. Set in 600 acres of picturesque and landscaped gardens it is now owned by the National Trust and open to the public.
