This was my first ever long weekend away on a steam train. Quite often, the railway historical societies would run weekends to far flung corners of the state, on branchlines that have rarely seen trains for a long time. (A lot of these branchlines have now sadly disappeared). This weekend was to Bombala, far south of Cooma, near the border of Victoria and New South Wales. This was the final photo stop of the day, just out of Bombala itself. The sun was about to set, and the engines both put on a show for us!! Still an unforgettable adventure!!
