Location
I was lying on the grass at home shooting some chaffinches. Then I saw something moving in the corner of my eye, it was this Robin, so I manoeuvred myself around to get him in the frame. As soon as I was comfortable the Robin puled the worm out of the ground. Bingo, I had my shot.Time
It was after dinner, I usually go to the garden to see if there is anything to photograph. I have loads of set ups for bird photography. I didn't needed one with this image.Lighting
Evening are the best for light on wild life, mornings are bit more difficult as birds are looking for food and perch not so long.Equipment
I work with a Canon 60D and had a sigma 150-500 mm lens on it. Unfortunally that lens isn't the best. Had I used the 150-600S I use now it would have been more detailed and sharper.Inspiration
I was and still am on a learning curve and to practice every day your camera skills increase.Editing
I do very little in post-process, I use the sliders everyone is using. In my camera bag
In my bag you find a Canon 60D, large telezoom lens, loads of batteries, cleaning stuff like cloths, blower and a lenspen. also a sigma 10-20mm for landscape. Lee filters, softgrad 3 stop, a 3 stop and 6 stop to slow down shutter speed. A shutter remote an a rain cover.Feedback
The only advice I can give you to get a similar shot is be patient and never give up.
