i'm a little skeptical about uploading this because this isn't the original file, i had to download it from my facebook, 'cause i accidentally deleted the photos on my camera. But this is my first try on this kind of photography and i'm still kinda new to this whole thing, i hope it gets a little love though.

This was shot in Scott's Flat Lake. As we had a camping trip and I thought it would be a good spot for photos.Time
I was getting tired of shooting the day scenery, when a thought popped into my head. I should try shooting the night sky. I waited until 9pm near the shore of the lake started shooting.Lighting
I had to make sure it was totally dark so I could at least take a photo of the stars. So I waited until other campers started turning off their flashlights and lanterns.Equipment
I had a cheap tripod as I was just getting into photography, 18-55mm stock lens, a Canon 60d for my equipmentInspiration
Prior to our trip I saw a video of "how to do astrophotography". So I tried it out at home, with no luck. A few weeks pass and my family decides to do a camping trip. That's when I decided to do it there.Editing
I used Lightroom, but only to brighten up the stars. I have never really used it before so it was mostly trial and error. And I was able to get a point where I felt comfortable with the image and I posted it.In my camera bag
Since then I bought a 5d mark I, a 85mm lens, a 25-70mm lens, and a better tripod.Feedback
A good tip to have is be patient and know what the weather would be at the night of your shoot.
