Location
This photo was taken during my tour of the old village of Cumalikizik near the town of Bursa. The village was established during the times of Ottoman Empire and still inhabited with its old houses and now tourist attraction. It was a cloudy morning and after I took the picture the rain poured down.Time
It was morning time, around 10 A.M. Local.Lighting
Because of clouds the shadows were very soft and did not spoil overall exposure.Equipment
The camera was Canon EOS 5D Mark II and hand held.Inspiration
I always admired such narrow streets with old houses. Neutral colours on the foreground and vivid colours on the background appealed me a lot. Not to mention the perspective element of the leading street.Editing
Yes. I used Canon's DPP first and and then Photoshop. I concentrated on the contrast, colours and then the clouds. The RAW original was with dull, monochrome clouds but I worked on the clouds with some cloning to highlight better clouds.In my camera bag

Care utmost for the composition and good perspective to render DOF. In this shot focus was on the far end, i.e. colourful houses and f5.0 was enough to have the foreground objects and plants mildly out of focus. So the focal point is the colourful houses at the far end.
