Red Petals atop a tin can.
Silent and still,
waiting for the day to come.
Surrounded by life,
surrounded by hope,
ready to reach their highest peak yet.
The herbs are yawning,
and saying hello.
The roses are twirling and jumping,
ready to shout.
All greeting the sun with a great hoorah.
Like a great, big orchestra you can hear their song.
The winds, the brass, the strings all in tune.
And the brilliant conductor taking her seat.
Ready to keep the rhythm,
harmonizing, synchronizing, and balancing so well.
The roses are ready,
the petals in position,
The geranium, verbena, and mint all sound.
The limonite kicks off, the rosemary follows,
and, suddenly, the sage chimes in,
bringing everyone in unison for the crescendo.
The show of their lives,
a continuos song.
Just sit and listen,
enjoy their gift.
The winds, the brass, the strings,
they’re all there.
They love an audience but no need to clap
Just give them some water,
and smile at the thought,
of the miracle surrounding you,
entertaining you,
and nurturing your soul.
