In early morning, as many as 8 or 9 cruise ships arrive in Venice, each disgorging 2 to 3 thousand people into the city's little streets and alleys clogging them with shoulder to shoulder pedestrian traffic. These ships are also causing damage to the wooden timbers supporting Venice's landmass and buildings.
