Garrapata State Beach on a summer's day. Garrapata is a few miles south of Carmel on Highway 1. I spent a while at this photo location playing with composition, getting the parallel in the waves, lining up the elements to carry the eye up coast. The point, to share a feeling, that nature is active but deeply balanced.

Stokksnes is an intriguing photo location just north of Hofn in eastern Iceland.

There are plenty of Ring Road pull-offs that aren't in the guidebooks. For this one I had to hike down to the cliffs to get what I wanted.

Couldn't sleep, jet lagged. So I wandered around with my camera and a little Gorilla tripod.
