Nice detail. I know how hard it is to do that with a Heron. Great job.

Beautiful colours

Such a great composition! I'm curious as to what lens you were using, because it is very soft in the middle. Probably could have opened the aperture up much further and had a much higher shutter speed. A 300 at max focal is going to be super soft. Dial that length back from 300 to maybe 270 and the edges of soft focus might start to get this beautiful image some more crispness. At F9 everything should be clear.
