Behind The Lens

Location

West Runton on the North Norfolk Coast in the UK. I took my class of school children to complete a study of Coastal Managenent features and erosion and couldn’t resist taking this shot.

Time

This is one of my absolute favourite shot. It was just before lunch time and the icy wind was blowing in from the North Sea, the waves were crashing against the sand. It was the perfect moment for a photograph.

Lighting

I wanted to make the sea look intriguing and mysterious. I wanted to capture to beauty of the white horses against the dark breakers.

Equipment

This photo was taken using my IPhone 6s camera.

Inspiration

The beauty of the coastline, and I have a deep, dark interest in the coastline and the sea. I think it is such a magnificent part of our world and love taking photos of the waves and the water.

Editing

As I took this on my iPhone 6s camera, I used photo editing app Snapseed to enhance the focus of the image and add some depth with a drama filter.

In my camera bag

Usually I carry my Nikon 430 dsl camera and my tripod. I’m a simplistic, beginner photographer, so don’t use any advanced equipment yet.

Feedback

Study the sea, study the wave and the motion of the tide. Find something to add focus to the picture and snap away.
