Location
This picture was taken on the balcony of my house in Odessa, on the Black Sea coast. The balcony of my house was chosen by a family of wasps and I had a unique opportunity to observe their life from the larval stage to adults. I watched how a new young generation grew up and developed from small yellow worms huddled in the depths of cozy honeycomb houses under the supervision of caring nannies.Time
The picture was taken in the morning, around 10.05 a.m.Lighting
Due to the fact that the wasp nest was quite high and it was not possible to use the tripod, I had to use a flash despite pretty good lighting.Equipment
Camera PENTAX K-5II Lens SMC PENTAX-DA 1:1,8 50 mm with KK-P25 AF Extension TubeInspiration
The growth and development of this small family of wasps took place before my eyes. I watched how a new young generation grew up and developed from small yellow worms huddled in the depths of cozy honeycomb houses under the supervision of caring nannies. This inspired me to take a series of shots, one of which is "Aliens exist!"Editing
