Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photograph in my home garden which has a huge amount of beautiful flowers and plants which attract a wide array of insects, including bees.

Time

I remember taking this photograph vividly. It was around midday and the sun was at its highest so the whole garden was glowing with colour. There were bees everywhere, but it still took me an hour to get a good shot.

Lighting

The midday sun was lighting the whole garden so there was no need for a flash. The lighting was perfect.

Equipment

This was taken with a Nikon D3200 with a 18-55mm f/3.5 lens with no other equipment required.

Inspiration

It was just one of those days where I woke up and felt like taking some photos of the beautiful flowers and colours of the garden.

Editing

Nope the photograph is completely raw.

In my camera bag

Being an extremely amateur photographer with an extremely small amount of money, I often just have my good old Nikon D3200 and nothing else. I recently got an upgrade for my camera so I now have the D3300, I also managed to save up for a 70-200mm lense and a tripod.

Feedback

Have good patients and good reaction times, it takes a long time to get a good shot with something living and moving, you just have to be persistent.
