Behind The Lens

Location

The New York City skyline from New Jersey.

Time

Night.

Lighting

Obviously it was after dark, I used slow shutter speed and tripod.

Equipment

Nikon D500 with tamron lens and tripod

Inspiration

I'm a New Yorker and any chance I get to photograph our beautiful skyline if a privilege, especially when the Empire State Building has one of it's special colors, this night it was red, white and blue.

Editing

I'm sure I added some saturation and clarity which I use in most of my editing, then I used the Reflect app for mirror image and fireworks.

In my camera bag

cameras: SONY RX10 IV and Nikon D500. Tamron lens 18-400 which I use most of the time and also wide angle Nikon lens. Tripod when night shooting.

Feedback

Slow shutter speed and tripod is the key for these nighttime shots especially with water involved. The app was helpful too. It was a beautiful shot to begin with but the additions made it pop out more and added a festive feel.
