Congratulations on your challenge win! This little guy is precious... I can just hear him mumbling, "Nuttin', honey!" :-)

Haha thank you so much for the kind words! It was a lot of fun photographing this chipmunk. He just kept coming back for more. I'm sure I filled out his winter supply of peanuts pretty well.

I like the focal point on his head and the blurred background. Wonderful !

Location
I took this photo at my family's cottage on the Bruce Peninsula in Canada.Time
It was about 3:00 in the afternoon on this day and the light was fairly limited and diffuse due to the cloud cover. I had it stopped down quite a bit so that I could get as much of the chipmunk as possible in focus and therefore the shutter speed was at about 1/160. This was adequate enough to freeze most motion however, the lightning speed of the little paws were blurred just slightly showing the interesting result in this photo. All my other photos of this little guy were well frozen in time.Lighting
Nothing too special. It was in natural light and it was very diffuse due to cloud cover and also tree cover.Equipment
My equipment was minimal: just the 5D Mark III and my trusty old Canon 300mm lens.Inspiration
My girlfriend was feeding the chipmunk peanuts when I walked out on the porch and I just had to take advantage! He kept shoving up to 3 whole peanuts in his mouth so I wanted to grab it from a vantage point where you could clearly see that. The result was adorable!Editing
My post processing was limited to standard RAW adjustments in lightroom for this shot. Nothing fancy! In my camera bag
I always have my 17-40mm Cannon USM lens, My Cannon 300mm, and my 80mm 1.8 USM. Sometimes I drag around my hackro macro lens since I have not bought a legit one yet!Feedback
Always take an opportunity to capture the precious moments. For me, when my gut says it's a good shot, I better run and grab the camera!
