Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo when I lived in Bogotá, Colombia. I have been a photographer since 1998 and have always been in love and curious about the world surrounding me. I am both self taught with some studies in college and image academies in Colombia.

Time

It was a rainy afternoon in Colombia. The glass on my window had two different shades that made it look so beautiful and interesting. I took the picture and decided to crop the photo in half and flip one of the halves to see what happened, and I feel in love with the effect.

Lighting

The natural light was bringing up the textures of the raindrops on the window so beautifully, usually in Bogotá when it rains, there is also sun (tons of rainbows!). And I could see the dust and scratches, which made it even more interesting visually. I loved it!

Equipment

Nikon D80 (if memory serves well), 24-70mm lens.

Inspiration

I am always drawn to light and textures, and this posed so beautifully without any pretension. Raindrops on a dirty window... so beautiful.

Editing

I converted the photo to black and white first. Than, I cropped it in half, and flipped one of the halves in photoshop. And, voilá!

In my camera bag

My D750, 85mm, 50mm and my Achromat Daguerreotype. I also always have prisms to play with.
