Location
Image is taken in living room.Time
For this technique I choose night time when is no light from outside and room need to be to almost dark.Lighting
I use only one bedside lamp which I put in one corner of room to get nice shadow on wall. This lamp is not strong just a hint of light from a side. Then with small led torch I paint over arrangement. This technique is painting with light. A lot images have been taken before I get what I wont.Equipment
Cannon 7D mark II, tripod and pen led torch..Inspiration
Many beautiful paint with light images from different authors.Editing
Just Photoshop for final touch with faux HDR technique. In my camera bag
Couple of lenses, cleaning set, some filters, batteries and SD cards.Feedback
Camera with 1/30 sec settings or camera with shutter timer and good tripod. For me 1/30 sec have been enough but this depends of how big subject is and how much light is available. Everybody need to do a lot of testing photos for finding proper shutter speed . ISO need to be 100 to avoid noise and for good details aperture on f:14. It is good to have more led torches with different size and strength. Also need to be spot light. Led light is good because it give cold white light. Any others torch give warm yellow light which have big influence on colors. It is good to before we start to paint with light to study which segment we will paint with light. Torch need to be turned away from lens but we can freely move hand in front of subject. Hand will be not visible because of moving and long exposure. To see this in practice I recommend to look on YouTube . Good luck and good light.
