It's cottonwood season. These tortured, old, weathered trees are releasing their cotton. If you look closely you can see the tufts of cotton hanging in this tree.

When I first saw the dark clouds out my window I headed to the trails to capture this June "snow" and what I got is a magnificent tree framed by storm clouds. When this storm blew in the air became so thick with cotton it was hard to see and breathe.

This shot was difficult on several accounts: the evening light was fading fast as the storm blew in, the air was so thick with cotton fluff it made my eyes water and was hard to breath, the storm was moving so fast that i had to work fast to get this shot.
