Location
I took this photo at the Alaska Sealife Center in Seward, Alaska during a summer vacation a couple months after buying my first camera, the Olympus PEN E-PL6.Time
It was taken around 3PM.Lighting
This portion of the sealife center was outdoors, so the lighting was particularly good relative to the rest of the center.Equipment
This was shot on the Olympus PEN E-PL6 with the 14-42 II R kit lens.Inspiration
Many of the puffins were flying around and very active, but this particular puffin was sitting still and seemed to be looking at us observers. It was an interesting scene and made the puffin feel different from the others.Editing
This shot was done with no post-processing!In my camera bag
I have since upgraded my gear and now always carry my Panasonic Lumix G85 and Olympus 12-40 f2.8 PRO lens around with me. This combination serves as a great jack-of-all-trades and performs well in all but the lowest light situations, which I have my Lumix 25mm f1.7 for. These two lenses allow me to capture anything!Feedback
Patience is key! Waiting for the perfect moment is what allows me to capture many of the photos that I get. Over time you also get to observe how certain people or animals interact with the environment around them. From our perspective, animals can be unpredictable, but once you spend some time trying to understand them, you can anticipate their actions to catch the perfect moment!
