Location
This shot was taken at the Derby Silk Mill, Derby, UK. It is the art installation of the poppies that went on tour around the UK after being seen in London.Time
It was taken at dusk, just as the sunset went behind the buildingLighting
The building was in shadows from the sun that was setting and the lights of the building where starting to come on around it.Equipment
A use a Nikon D750 Full Frame with a 28mm lens. It was an hand held shot nothing extra was used.Inspiration
The inspiration of the photo was to get the colour of the reds against the shadows of the building and the ceramic poppies leading from the top of the building to the gates itself.Editing
I used Lightroom to bring out the reds of the poppies and purples in the brickwork from the lighting. i also did a small crop to take out some of the distractions from the sides of the shot.In my camera bag
I notmally have my lenses which are a 28mm, a 50mm also a macro lens with a Raynox DCR-250 and my Sigma 150-600 lens. With me is also my Hoya 10stop filter and my tripod and nothing else.Feedback
Just keep shooting and dont let others put you off. If your in a group just take a few extra minutes when your group start to move on and take a shot when others are not there. Keep shooting
