Love this picture. It reminds me of my dog Silky. Silky was given to me by my grandmother when I was 18 mo old and just got home from having heart surgery. This was in the 50's.

Location
This photo was taken at my home .Time
This was an early evening shot.Lighting
It was an early evening shot with natural light in on a partly cloudy day .Equipment
I used my Canon EOS Rebel with my 75-300 lens . I did not use a tripod . I was just out doing some random shooting as I do frequently and he walked up to me . I asked him to sit for me and he did as I asked him to.Inspiration
I am always out doing just random shooting always trying to get better at my photography as it is a relaxing thing for me since I lost my spouse . I try to find the natural beauty even in the smallest of things and try to bring it to light through my photos. I have always had a passion for photography but only recently after my loss have had the time to really go for it as much as I have always wanted. This golden is my companion he means the world to me . My loss was his loss and I see so much beauty in him . I take photos of him frequently to remind me of the heart he has and that God gives us these animals to ease our pain and they can help us through some really bad times . He is an amazing dog not only beautiful but smart and I see such beauty in him every time I photograph him.Editing
I did do some post processing to give it a more monochromatic look . I did not want to go totally black and white so I just went with changing the colors a bit duller .In my camera bag
I usually carry two cameras . A Nikon and a Canon both have a mutiple lenses from micro to 75-300 . I carry auto shutter control . Cleaning equipment , a small snack , a small bottle of water , batteries , flash , filters. and sometimes a tripod depending on the shoot I expect to have .Feedback
Being patient and always looking for an opportunity is what I say is my best thing . I am always looking for an opportunity and I am very patient. Sometimes the shot we want may take several tries or a long time but patience is about the best advise I can give anyone . I am fairly new to photography so I think if I can remain patient I will one day capture the beauty that I see in the world around me also, the amazing things I see though the eyes of so many other amazing photographers.
