My oldest daughter had just moved out of home, so I was experimenting with setting up a studio in her old room (much to her dislike). I had purchased some backdrops, props and studio lighting.Time
The time of day wasn't too much of an issue because of the studio lightingLighting
I was experimenting with 3 studio lights to shape the lighting. Using a key light to the side, then a fill light with less power creating soft shadows.Equipment
This picture was shot with canon 1200d and 50 mm lens. I used continuous lighting, backdrop and stand.Inspiration
I like to learn about a variety of genre's in photography. Setting up the studio gives me a chance to practise photography even when it's raining. My daughter does dog minding, so I have had an opportunity to photograph different breeds of dogs.Editing
As I shot in raw, I did do some minor enhancements in Lightroom. In my camera bag
I have recently upgraded my camera to a full frame canon 6d mark ii, with canon 24-105 mm L lens/sigma 105mm macro. So I am looking forward to taking photos with it, and hopefully taking my photography to the next level. :-).Feedback
It's good to learn about where to position lights to help shape the light in the photo. Using different amount of lights and strengths can create different effects and atmosphere. Working with animals can be a bit tricky. The dog in the photo was my own dog. It was a bit hard getting him to stay in the tin. It is good to have some treats available and catching them in the right mood.
