Location
This photo was actually taken in the spare room at my mom's house. I know it is weird, but I needed a spot to do photos and she was kind enough to offer and let me use my old room as a spot if I couldn't find another location! Again, weird, but nothing beats the spread of food my mom prepares for clients and models when we run out of options to shoot! I can do without the embarrassing stories of my youth, but beggars can't be choosers!Time
This shoot took place about midday, just after 1p. We had planned for earlier and outdoors, but the weather killed that idea - random rainstorm when the forecast called for partly cloudy. Word to the wise, never trust Chicago weather forecasts.Lighting
Lighting was all natural through the two windows located on adjacent walls. This was early in my photography career, when it was strictly hobby and barely an idea to foster it towards a career.Equipment
Equipment I used was my Canon Rebel T1i and an 18-55mm lens. That's it. No tripods, no external flash or studio lighting, no filters.Inspiration
The original idea was an outdoor boudoir photoshoot at a local park. We were going for a fun and flirty feel, with a little exhibitionism thrown in. When the weather took a turn, and we decided to shoot indoors, Kaitlin didn't have any other outfits with her aside from lingerie. So, we went with flirty and sexy and the hardwood flooring and available full-length mirror really helped pull it off!Editing
Post-process was exposure, clarity, contrast, and highlight/shadow adjustments with a final twist of changing to black & white. Again, super early in my photography so I wasn't super sure what I was doing, just making adjustments until I thought it looked good!In my camera bag
Normally I carry 3 different lenses: a 50mm, 18-55mm, and a 18-135mm. For what I'm shooting, this gives me what I need! I also carry extra batteries, micro-fiber cloths, a knife, and business cards. Got to be prepared for anything!Feedback
Seeing as this is a very simple photo, with no special editing done or effects added, I'd have to say finding someone comfortable enough to be in their underwear in front of you is a great first step! Be relaxed, don't force the pose and have fun! That's exactly what happened and this was the result!
