Location
This was taken at Wastwater in the Lake District.Time
It was taken late in the evening in May, 2017. I was hoping for more light, but it was not to be. Instead I used a long exposure and the stream leading into Wastwater to get reflections of the sky.Lighting
I would have liked more light, but at least the sun lit up the clouds on the right to lift the colours from the greys in frontEquipment
Taken on A Canon 5D Mk 3, using a Canon 16-35L f4 lens on a Gitzo tripod. A Lee Nd6 Grad was used to darken the sky.Inspiration
I have only been to Wastwater once, so a return visit while I was in the Lakes. It is still a fabulous place, even when the weather doesn't quite play ball.Editing
Processed in Lightroom, just a few tweeks to contrast, colour and a small crop.In my camera bag
Canon 5D Mk 3, Canon 16-35L f4, Sigma 24-105 Art and a Canon 100-400L. Filters include ND Grads, ND 6 and 10 stop, polariser. Remote release.Feedback
Wastwater is a great place to visit, but not the easiest place to get to. Well worth the visit, it is known as one of the most beautiful places in the UK....and certainly a wonderful area to photograph.
