During our time in Ubud (Bali), my friend Bella and I decided we wanted to explore a little further out of the area to some of the main sights. We had seen so many people buzzing around on scooters we thought ahh it must be easy and it's cheap, let's give it a try! Ha ha ha how wrong we were. Despite getting a crash course from the guy at the stall, we were far from ready to face the crazy drivers currently on the roads, not to mention Bella fainting. So we decided to get the guy selling us the scooters to drive us around instead. Great decision - by the end we were firm friends and had managed to avoid the torrential rain that hit mid-afternoon. These are the famous rice terraces that he took us to - such a wonderful view and so interesting to see how the local people have adapted the landscape for growing the rice.
