Location
The photo was taken at Beauchief gardens in Sheffield. It's a great spot for photos especially in the spring as there are lots of little gems hidden away like the bridge the model is sat on.Time
It was about 10am when I took this photo.Lighting
The light was great although bright it was quite cloudy so this helped keep the harshness of the sun down a lot.Equipment
I used a Nikon D300 and a Tamron 90mm lens sat on my tripod.Inspiration
I was doing a shoot for a friend of mine to show off her makeup and the bridge caught my eye with the green backdrop of the trees it really brought out the colours the model was wearing and with the stone almost matching her top, it just felt right to create this shot. I took about 6-10 shots from different angles to see which would work best and this shot definitely stood out for me.Editing
Very little to be honest, I like to try and get the shot right with the camera rather than making it right with software but I did make small alterations with the blacks and whites. In my camera bag
I have change most of my gear now. I've upgraded the camera body to the D800 and I am in the process of purchasing a Nikon 24-70mm lens. I also have a Nikon 50mm 1.4d which is a great little lens and of course my trusty tripod to keep everything nice and still.Feedback
Scout the area before you shoot to find the hidden gems that make the photos that little bit better/different. I do this with all my shoots so it saves you time when it comes to the day and be prepared for anything especially in the UK as the weather can change by the hour. My main tip though is enjoy yourself and don't get lost in the detail as some of my best work especially when photographing families on location, is to catch the photos when they're not looking as these photos are far more natural
