Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken over the Colorado River in Laughlin, Nevada. The scenery was beautiful, but I was just determined to get at least one great bird shot.

Time

I spent most of my day shooting birds and it was late afternoon by the time I finally got something I absolutely loved.

Lighting

I didn’t plan the lighting for this photo as I had been shooting since that morning but I am always pleased with the lighting just before, during and just after the golden hour when the sun is setting.

Equipment

This was shot with a Canon Rebel T6 with what I recall was a 75-300mm lens. I was using my tripod on and off during the day. May have used it for this shot, but the lack of clarity tells me that I might not have.

Inspiration

I just love birds. I could photograph them all day and I did.

Editing

I used Lightroom and Photoshop for this one. Especially to bring out the highlights in the wing.

In my camera bag

I bought a Canon Rebel T6 kit which came with 18-55 and 75-300mm lenses. It came with a bunch of filters that I played with a couple of times but didn’t really find a good use for them. I bring my tripod along when I’m not planning to hike too much.

Feedback

Sit tight, don’t get distracted and be patient. Use a tripod for a clearer outcome ????????
