Location
This photo was taken at my Great Gram's beach cabin a few years back during a family vacation. Every summer we would go and stay with Gram and play on the beach as kids. Now that I have a family we still go visit her old house.Time
This was taking in August during the evening sunset. Pictures never quite capture what the eyes see.Lighting
There was just something perfect about how the sun was setting over Puget Sound that evening. The way the water glittered.Equipment
Honestly I didn't use anything fancy for a camera it was a simple Nikon point and shoot.. It was all we had at the time to take pictures with. Seems it did the trick! Made for a stunning photo.Inspiration
I wanted to capture the beauty of the sunsets I remember while growing up. Every time I look at these pictures it reminds me of my Gram and our visits with her every summer. Days of fishing and chasing seagulls, searching for shells and turning over rocks to find sea life!Editing
I only changed the setting on the camera to play with the different light filters. Other than that I didn't change anything about the photo. There was no editingIn my camera bag
At the time all I had was the little Nikon point and shoot now I have a Nikon D3300 with a 55-200mm lens and 18-55mmFeedback
Never stop with just one photo....you can take 300 photos before you find the "one" that inspires you. Practice on sunsets. every evening for a week go take photos as the sun sinks to the horizon you just don't know what you will get.
