Behind The Lens

Location

This picture was taken in my backyard on a early spring rainy day in Gold Bar Washington.

Time

The time a day is most likely early morning before I go to work. I always have my camera ready to go by the backdoor.

Lighting

lighting is all natural.

Equipment

I have a Canon 7D body with a Tamron 150mm to 600mm lens. I use a monopod because the lens is heavy and it helps with focus. No flash all my hummingbirds are natural light.

Inspiration

Hummingbirds are fascinating little birds. And to take these guys pictures you have to be fast and in focus. they do challenge me in my photography and I try all kinds of different setting and focus to get the better picture. So the past few years I have been shooting pictures of hummingbirds and other backyard bird, every once in a while I get one that is worth sharing.

Editing

Yes I did. the only thing I did with this picture is add color and contrast to make her color pop.

In my camera bag

I have Canon 7d and Canon 50d cameras and 3 Tamron lenses.

Feedback

Be patient on any wildlife photography. Timing is everything. I also do a lot of equine photography. Thank you.
