Outstanding portfolio! I enjoyed them all. Thanks for the ID info. I wish more photographers would do it.

Location
This photo was taken just outside Mata Mata Rest Camp which is situated in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier National Park, which is in the Northern Cape South Africa. The park is wedged between Namibia, South Africa and Botswana. We visit game parks in South Africa Photography has been my hobby for a long time.Time
We were driving along the road as the sun was rising when we came across a pride of lions. This particular lion was walking passed the car when I took the photo.Lighting
The lion was lit by the early morning golden sunrise.Equipment
The equipment I used was Sony DSLR-A550 fitted with a 70-300 Lens. Settings F18, Speed 1/320sec, ISO 800. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
The beautiful golden light from the sunrise which you get in the Kgalagadi.Editing
The original photo was taken in landscape and I changed it to PortraitIn my camera bag
The equipment I carry today is as follows. 2 Sony cameras. Sony A55 And Sony A57. Lenses - 18-55mm, 70-300mm & 170-500mm, A Sony Flash, Tripod & Bean Bags which are great to place on the car door when taking photos from your car.Feedback
Depending on what photography you want to do. Get up before sunrise and get out as early as possible. Also, make sure that you're on the road for the last hour of sunlight before sunset. These two time-periods are often referred to as “golden hour” and offer warm, rich light for wildlife photography. This is also usually the best time to see animals up and about. It is very important to obey all park rules, such as stay in your car at all time (Excepting picnic sites), and do not harass wildlife. This is for your own safety and the safety of other people. It is very important to have a lot of patience.
