This photo was captured in my brother's front yard of all places! I hike hundreds of miles every year in search of great images and to have such opportunity in the cottonwood tree in a front yard is crazy! I had to climb up in the tree to get this shot as the young birds are very hard to see from the ground.Time

The rim light on the feathers gives the image an almost 3D appeal. I couldn't have asked for better conditions!Equipment

I just really like capturing an image that makes you stop and stare, because wildlife and nature in general have that effect on me. I just want people to the beauty i find every image i take. I want images that show all fine details that most people may never get to witness themselves.Editing
I edit using lightroom, generally very small adjustments in highlights and shadows to increase the dynamic range a bit, also i shoot raw which retains much more detail than a jpeg image.In my camera bag
I usually carry two camera's, I know own a Nikon D500 and a Nikon D750. A sigma 150-600mm sport lens, Sigma 70-200mm 2.8, tamron 11-18mm, and a Nikon 24-70mm 2.8. A also carry an Induro carbon fiber tripod with gimbal head, and a wireless shutter switch.Feedback
Spending time outdoors and learning the habits of the wildlife you want to capture is key. Keep an eye on the weather conditions, because thats what will dictate whether your shots are good great or exceptional. Chances for great images are fleeting with wildlife and know what they do, when they do it can make all the difference.
