Behind The Lens
Location
Hi. this photo was taken in our dining room at home. My granddaughter was sitting at our table and I just grabbed my camera and took the shot. Luckily for me, she smiled beautifully. which resulted in the image you have seen. I am an amateur photographer and am interested in many forms of the subject. I like to think that I am a "natural" photographer rather than a "photo artist". That being whilst I do you use Lightroom and Photoshop it is only to enhance the outcome a little rather than to create the image. I particularly like portrait work when I get the opportunity which is sadly not often enough. I also do landscape and very occasionally wildlife and flora or anything else that takes my fancy.Time
this image was taken in the late afternoon.Lighting
The lighting was entirely natural as we have large french doors at one end of the room which gives good light.Equipment
I used my Nikon D7100 with a Nikon 18 to 105 zoom set at 66mm, exposure f10 @1/100sec iso 640.Inspiration
My two granddaughters were present and behaving well and in a good mood, the opportunity arose so I snapped off the shot.Editing
The only post-processing was a little cropping. In my camera bag
In my bag, I carry my Nikon D7100 and either my Nikon18 - 105mm or my Nikon 18 - 300mm. My Nikon 1.8 50mm, and a Nikon 1.8 35mm lens. A Sigma 10 -20 mm super wide-angle zoom. If I am out with the 18 - 105 I usually put in my sigma 70 - 300mm Telephoto. I carry a flash and various bits and pieces of useful odds and ends. I am a great one for using a holster on a belt onto which I can attach as required extra pouches for other lenses etc. This is less obtrusive than a backpack and works well.Feedback
The best advice I can give is to always be prepared and have your camera ready at all times if you think an opportunity may arise.
