This photograph was taken in August of 2011, in the Western Ghats of Southern India. I was participating in a workshop held by a professional photographer named Kalyan Varma, who has worked with organizations such as the BBC and National Geographic. We were observing a group of lion-tailed macaques within the forest, when I managed to snap a shot of one staying behind a tree.
