The Almourol Castle is situated in a small rocky island, in the midle of Tagus River,Central Portugal. The castle was a Knights Templar stonghold used during the Reconquista.
The site was conquered in 1129 by Portuguese Troops and then was given to the Knlghts Templar who at the time were responsible for the defence of the Capital,then Coimbra.
