Location
This photo was taken at a river bank in one of the communities in Lagos, Nigeria. I am a self taught photographer and my favorite type of photos to take are the random candid photos. And just like with most of my other photos, the man just so happen to be there just as I was there it was totally unplanned and that’s why I love it so much.Time
This was about 6pm in the evening and the sun was getting ready to set, and the men who work out on the water was just returning to shore.Lighting
Daylight is the perfect lighting. It makes everything better.Equipment
This shot was taken with my iPhone 7 camera.Inspiration
I love to tell stories with my photographs. Here I was in a part of Lagos where not many people go to or may ever go know. And I just wanted to capture the beauty and simplicity of everyday people living there lives. In this photo a man is captured returning to land after a day’s work out on the water, the elements of the city architecture can be seen at a distance depicting the ‘urban’ Lagos, all the while a vessels sits in the water abandoned.Editing
I used a mobile app on my iPhone to process this photo, I increased the hdr, sharpness and saturation. I reduced the exposure and I used vintage filter because I wanted it to look dated. In my camera bag
I always have my iPhone with me and I also have my canon SL3 with the 18-55mm lens, 50mm and the 70-200mm lens.Feedback
Find the beauty in random, simple and overlooked places. Just start capturing.
