Just after a huge Thunderstorm had passed eastwards along the Snake Pass Valley I pulled over to capture some shots of the emerging sun peeking from the clouds. Love the rustic and farmyard feel of the shot... And how it reminds me of just how close I came to falling butt-first into the other huge puddle just behind me!

I wanted to catch how low on the sky the sun was, and realised there were lots of puddles from a recent rainstorm so hit fuen very low to try and capture both the sun and it’s reflectionEquipment
Canon EIS 40D along with a stolons 18-22mm Wide angle lens and a polarising filter to enhance the natural colours of the skyInspiration
Driving down the valley the low sun reflecting off the hills and making lengthy shadows on the pine trees was very striking so I wanted to capture this summery imageEditing
I just post produced it in Adobe Lightroom, just doing a bit of gentle tweaking of the clarity, contrast, blacks and shadows sliders - keeping it simple and natural reallyIn my camera bag

Watch the light, check the angle, look for the light reflecting off other structures/objects and check the shadows, where the light is not paints as much if the picture ascwhere the light is!
