We were skinning (ski touring) from the Vanoise Refuge up to the Refuge de la Femma and this is the valley in between. To the right lie the Grand Casse and the Grand Motte, with the resorts of Val d'Isere and Tignes close by. The melt water was pure and fresh, and I drank from it liberally....one of the world's most beautiful places
