I loved the frenetic energy, colour and buzz. This was in Cape Coast, Ghana, and shows the fishing boats coming back after a day's work. The canoes are generally originals - hewn from logs. The juxtaposition of this and the outboard engines and other 21st Century equipment, creates a sharp, social contrast.
Another contrast is the fact that the shot was taken from the old fort - this was the arrival and distribution point for slaves on ships. very much tragic history in the place.
