I took this photo in my old house a couple of years ago. If you live in Minnesota you know that winter can be long, I must've been outside looking for some inspiration or sign of spring. There is something beautiful here though, when everything is dormant and quiet, fossilized by the cold.Time
This photo was taken around noon in early spring in Minneapolis, I remember walking outside with my coffee, studying the dormant garden.Lighting
It was high noon, I liked the natural vivid contrast.Equipment
I quite honestly don't remember, I believe it was the Sony a7ii, or my iPhone - ha.Inspiration
I enjoy photographing the mundane things in everyday life, things we may simply walk past unnoticed.Editing
I simply de-saturated, and modified the brightness and contrast of the image. In my camera bag
I own a Canon Mark III, and 45mm and 50mm. The 85mm prime lens is on my wish list this year. I always have extra charged batteries, a flash unit, and a diffuser.Feedback
Shallow depth of field, natural high contrast lighting, and a dead flower and you should be good to go.
