My inspiration for this photo was the beam of light coming in through the window begging to be used as a natural spotlight focus on a subject.Editing
I used minor post processing to brighten the image slightly, remove blemishes from skin, skin smoothing, and black and white matte conversion in Adobe Photoshop.In my camera bag
Typically I keep my 60D, a couple of flashes, a Canon f1.8 50 mm, my 18-135mm Canon lens, my 24-105mm F4 USM Canon lens, and some batteries.Feedback
My advice for anyone trying to get a shot like this is make sure you've got enough light or the correct settings on your camera to ensure you get enough light and a sharp enough image as well as have someone on the other side of the window with a diffuser or umbrella to soften the light a bit. When I took this shot I ended up having to brighten it a bit in places where it was too dark and darken the places where the highlights were blown.
