Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at Longwood Gardens in Kennet Square Pennsylvania.

Time

We spent most of the afternoon at Longwood Gardens that day and these tulips are positioned in the front of the gardens. This was one of the first shots I took that day.

Lighting

All natural lighting and it was a perfect sun-filled day!

Equipment

This was shot with a Canon 70D with a 24-70mm f/2.8 L lens.

Inspiration

I loved how all the tulips were standing tall and the crowds were mainly to the side. The way the colors were blending together with a nice creamy bokeh in the background just was icing on the cake. Overall, there was no true inspiration except for the natural beauty of the day and the flowers.

Editing

For post-processing, I tend to not do too much post-processing. Typically I will increase some colors and adjust the highlights and shadows.

In my camera bag

The equipment I normally have in my bag would be my Canon 70D, 24-70mm f/2.8 L and 50mm f/1.8. Recently I when I am on the go I will just grab my 70D with my nifty 50 and hit the road. A few other accessories you will see me with will be a notebook, a speaker, my phone and charges for everything.

Feedback

Do the typical angles, reevaluate and look for the angles that are understated. With crowds make sure you are patient and wait for the background to clear and use the people as additional leading lines or even a focal point.
