This photo was taken at the Desert Museum in Tucson, Az. I was watching the bear exhibit and this creature crawled up onto the rock near me. And the fact that he posed for me just made the picture that much better!Time
The time of day was late morning.Lighting
This was just a quick shot; I just lucked out with the nice contrast in the background.Equipment
I usually carry my Olympus TG-6 in my purse just in case I see something. For these outings, I usually take my Nikon J-1 mirrorless camera. It is lightweight and easier to carry around than my big Canon EOS 20D, which I rarely use these days.Inspiration
I love the Desert Museum. It always has photo rich subjects. I was waiting for the bears to come out and play and this fellow decided to join me close by on a nearby rock. My camera was ready to go already to it was a lucky shot.Editing
I use photoshop, but I didn't do any editing on this one!In my camera bag
I always have my phone handy, but rarely use it for photos. If I am going on a hike where I need to be lightweight, I bring along my Olympus TG-6. Awesome little camera that also allows for underwater shots. The one camera I probably use more than any other is the Nikon J-1. It is lightweight, compact, has several lenses that can be used, and does a terrific job. If I have time, am alone without distractions, and don't have too far to go, I bring the Canon EOS 20D. Nothing like options!Feedback
