A cow stares at the kid and vice-versa. I feel the cow is communicating with the kid that he should stay away from her calf so they can all leave in peace. The kid seems to be getting the message. This picture means a lot to me as I'm an animal lover and I respect all kind of animals. Milk farms are very cruel to animals. They take the calf away from the mother on the first or second day after it's born and they will never see each other again. The mother cries loudly wanting her kid back. Usually the cow protects the baby until they are about 6 months old. In Varanasi, the cows run freely with their babies. They are confident and they will hurt anybody who tries to get closer to their calves. You go cow!!!
