Never have I seen such vibrant and deep colors. This image is hardly edited from the raw file, the sky really looked this and there was a red-pink glo

Classic Italian scene on Sardinia

The last light of the day and the dark clouds made the bright blue colours of the small icebergs scattered around the glacier tongue come out nicely.

Instead of trying to get an extreme close-up, I wanted to include the habitat of the butterfly as well in the picture.

Only one flaw in this camouflage outfit of the willow ptarmigan, the blood red eyebrows stand out quite a bit in the snow!
