Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken at the Rhyolite ghost town, Nevada. I am self taught photographer. So every shot is an exciting lesson for me.

Time

It was a Mid-day on a sunny yet chilly winter day

Lighting

I wanted the shot to look mysterious and ghostly as the towns namesake . Since I was using my trusty, handy iphone, natural lighting is very important for my shots.

Equipment

My trusty and handy iphone was used for this shot. No other equipment was used or needed. My motto in life and photos I shoot is - “Keep it simple”

Inspiration

I always look for a beautiful sky. My young adult daughter was visiting. Hubby and I wanted to show her the lesser known, yet hidden gems of Nevada - A far cry from the quintessential neon-lit Las Vegas. For folks who follow my work, its obvious that vast beautiful skies are a prominent part if my shots apart from personally expressive landscape, animals and people.

Editing

My post-processing steps are simple. I use the standard color and light adjustments that come with the default iPhone photo app.

In my camera bag

Its more in my pocket, I would say. Its always my trusty and handy and most importantly, accessible iPhone . On rare occasions, I use a Yunteng monopod and bluetooth clicker.

Feedback

Besides the age old adage - “Its rhe photographer that makes excellent pictures, not the camera”, I would add “An easily accessible camera is the best one to have”
