USS Salem CA139

[ 42°14′39″N 70°58′12″W ] - USS Salem CA139 (AKA "The Sea Witch") is a decommissioned United States Navy Des Moines Class heavy cruiser and museum ship docked at the Fore River Ship Yard in Quincy, MA just south of Boston. She was the third US Naval ship bearing the name 'USS Salem'. Her keel was laid July 4, 1945 and she served in service of the US Navy from 1949 to 1959 in the Mediterranean, Monaco, Lebanon, and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. She also served as a movie setting, portraying the German Battleship GRAF SPEE in the 1956 film "The Battle of The River Plate". More recently, in 2016, she served as the set of the SS Pendleton in the feature film "The Finest Hours". She is also reported to be haunted, and was featured on the TV program 'Ghost Hunters' in 2006.
