Behind The Lens

Location

Mt. Joy, PA.

Time

I was visiting my son, Matthew in Mt Joy, PA and we went driving thru a part of Amish country. We noticed the Amish farmer plowing his field. We pulled over along the road and waited for him to come our direction. It was later in the afternoon.

Lighting

It was somewhat overcast, which made the lighting nice, no harsh shadows.

Equipment

Canon MK III 5D with a 24-105 mm lens.

Inspiration

My son and I were looking for Amish farms hoping to find some images, this was one of many captured that day

Editing

Added a little contrast n a little fill with PS.

In my camera bag

2Canon MK III 5D bodies, 24-105mm f/4 Canon lens, Canon 400mm f/2.8, along with a macro and Canon 14 mm f/2.8 and a couple 580 flashes. And of course a Gitzo mono pod for the 400 n a Bogen tripod.

Feedback

The Amish are a little funny about having their images taken, I have it more so in the older generation. The younger Amish seem to b a little more understanding, I have been photographing the Amish for about the last 25 years and have been able to have a conversation with the majority, which makes photographing the culture much easier. And always with RESPECT.
